Brenda Davis, registered dietitian, is a leader in her field and an acclaimed speaker at nutrition, medical and health conferences. She has worked as a research dietitian, public health nutritionist, clinical nutrition specialist, nutrition consultant and academic nutrition instructor. She is the co-author of nine vegetarian and vegan nutrition books including her latest, Becoming Vegan: Comprehensive Edition, and the more concise version, Becoming Vegan: Express Edition. She is a past chair of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association. In 2007, she was inducted into the Vegetarian Hall of Fame.

New York City Schools Could Become First to Ban Processed Meat
Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and Council Member Fernando Cabrera have just introduced a resolution to the New York City Council that would remove processed meat from the city's school lunches. The landmark resolution cites a 2015 report from the World Health Organization that declared processed meat, such as hot dogs, pepperoni, bacon, sausage and deli meat, carcinogenic to humans.
