To our Customers who live in Maryland,
Thanks to those of you who responded to our plea last week by calling your state Senator to help us pass this legislation. If you have not contacted your state Senator, there is still time to influence this vote.
Last week's scheduled vote was delayed, but finally passed out of the Senate committee on Friday with a favorable report. Now it heads to the main Senate floor tomorrow or Wednesday.
If you live in Maryland, please help us pass this legislation by calling your state Senator today.
Currently, only 16 states and Washington DC have licensing laws for naturopathic doctors.
Village Green is proud to support legislation to license naturopaths in Maryland. This will ensure that:
- Naturopathic physicians have completed pre-medical prerequisite coursework and graduated from accredited 4-year naturopathic medical schools
- Naturopaths have passed rigorous licensing exams
- Naturopaths will be able to practice as primary care physicians
- A greater focus is brought to chronic disease prevention in primary care settings
